4 month stats

Owen had his 4 month well visit today. As we suspected, he is huge. The doctor said he looks great. He got 4 vaccines, 3 shots and one oral vaccine. When the nurse came in to give Owen his shots Jake told her "be careful with my baby brother!" After Owen got his shots, and cried for just a few seconds until I picked him up, Jake looked at the nurse and with a sad but strong voice told her "I told you to be careful with my brother!"  It was so cute.

4 month stats:

Weight: 19lbs 3oz.    96%
Length:  27.5 in.        98%
Head: 17.25 in.          97%

4 Months

My baby is getting so big! He is so much fun now though. He loves laughing and smiling at his big brother. He won't stay on his back very long and is working on rolling back to his back. He is such a happy baby but you would never know that from pictures, he gives us a stone face every time we get the camera out. Silly boy. He tries to sit up on his own and can balance for a few seconds while holding himself up,with his hands. He loves chewing on things, but still hates the paci. He ends up in our bed most nights because he wants to sleep and nurse. He loves his momma and will sometimes just want to be able to see me while he falls asleep. He has his 4 month appointment next week so we will find out his official stats then, but we already know the answer is huge. HUGE!

Week in Review

(This was written last Friday, I just now had a chance to add pictures)

We had a super busy week. Today has been the first day we haven't done anything, just hung out in our pajamas and played at home. Monday we ran some errands and got paint to finally paint the book shelf in Owen's room and some paint to re-paint Jake's chair outside. Tuesday was our super crazy day. Jake had been wanting to go to the water park by Grammie's house all summer, so we finally got a day to do that. We packed our swim stuff, lunches, and snacks and headed over there. We got there right as it was opening and found a shady spot to set up. As soon as we all got sun screened up Jake was off to the kids area to play. He absolutely loved it! He had no problem going down the water slides and liked to wait for the big bucket to tip over and soak him. Josh and I passed Owen back and forth so we could play with/watch Jake. It was hot so we just chilled in the shallow water on the side of the kids play area. After lunch we went to the lazy river and wave pool and went around a few times. Both boys loved that. Owen loved the waves. A couple more hours of playing and we were all exhausted so we headed home. Owen crashed on the walk back to the car and Jake followed shortly after we started driving. We relaxed for a bit when we got home, but after dinner we headed out for a walk/bike ride for national night out. Josh is on the hoa board this year and he had set up a scavenger hunter get people out for the evening. Jake was completely exhausted by the time we got home from that, as were the rest of us! We decided that next summer we will get season passes to the water park since Owen will be old enough to play we can go more often. More errands on Wednesday with a trip to the mall play place, then Thursday brought our normal grocery trip and hanging out with friends for thirsty Thursday. And all of that activity this week bought Josh and I an extra 30 minutes of sleep this morning as Jake sleep until 6:45!

Just one week left of summer break for Josh, then it's back to school and back to our normal routine. It is definitely going to be an adjustment when he goes back this year since we had just gotten into a new routine with Owen when summer started. I'm sure we will figure it out fairly quickly though!

Moving

Owen is making his first moves in working to keep up with Jake. He has always been a mover but in the last few weeks he has picked it up. Kicking his legs, swinging his arms, and as of this week rolling from back to belly (and belly to back once). Now anytime we put him down on his back he rolls right over to his belly then turns. I fear that he is going to be actually going places sooner rather than later! I have video of this action but haven't uploaded it yet, such is life with two busy boys!
