Catching up

I have clearly been negligent in posting real updates lately! I'm not sure what exactly we have been doing, but we have been busy constantly for the past few weeks.

So since it has been a while, lets start with Thanksgiving. We headed to the Morrow's as usual and enjoyed a day of friends and family. We also let everyone else in on Owen's sex and name. Jake had a blast playing with Aunts Nikki, Chrissy and Michelle. He would pick one at a time to take him around on treasure hunts or play cars with him. The next day we spent the day decorating our house for Christmas. We put up 4 different trees this year, our big one in the living room, a fun one for Jake in the playroom, our small intial tree on the table in the living room and we got Jake a small tree for his room. After a long day of decorating we headed downtown to our city's Christmas festivities. Josh, Jake and I stood in line to ride the train while Grammy and grandma did some shopping on the square. Next year we will have to get there earlier so we can do more, we ended up waiting in line for an hour! We had pictures that Sunday finally. We had to reschedule since it rained them out a couple weeks before. It was a bit windy, but we got some good pictures!

Since Thanksgiving we have just been busy. Josh has had rugby games on the weekends, I have been working a decent amount (not a lot but all of my times are full now) and on the same days that Josh has rugby, so Grammy has been spending Saturdays with Jake when rugby and work overlap. Jake seems to not mind that a bit, he basically just tells us to go when she is here! Jake and I have been doing some painting and lots of running around doing stuff.

Jake loves singing Christmas songs, but trying to catch him on video has proven to be quite a challenge since he just wants to see himself on it.

This past weekend Grammy's sisters were all in town. Jake was loving all of his aunts! He was such a ham trying to make everyone laugh and making himself laugh in the process. He is such a goof.

We went and visited Santa a couple of weeks ago. Jake loved Santa and walked right up to him and introduced himself and hopped up on his lap. We got such a cute picture and he talked to Santa and told him what he wanted. I love that he has never been afraid of him and we have all cute pictures of him smiling with Santa. Hopefully Owen follows that lead!

This week we have been working on finishing our Christmas baking, Jake and I are going to finish our sugar cookies this afternoon. And the rest of the weekend we will be finishing getting ready for Christmas.

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +10 lbs..whoa. Still not where I was with Jake at this point, but at least on the chart for weight gain finally
Maternity clothes? Maternity everything unless I am just hanging out at home
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still sleeping well, unless we get a middle of the night wake up call from Jake in which case I have been unable to fall back asleep because I am wide awake.
Best moment this week: We decided on bedding for Owen! (We are so behind in the nursery planning department...oh and we got Owen's stocking and I finally bought something for Owen. We are mostly going to need newborn, 0-3 and a few 3-6 month things since he will be born in warm weather and there aren't many warm weather things out right now so I had been waiting. But I found a cute onesie that he needs (although long sleeves so I had to get 9 months). I can't wait until spring stuff starts coming out!
Movement: All the time
Food cravings: No real cravings this week
Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Nothing this week
What I am looking forward to: Christmas!
Differences from 1st pregnancy: We are much further behind in doing anything to get ready for Owen. I guess it helps that we have most stuff that we absolutely need.
Milestones: Buying something for Owen!

(I am working on a real post to catch up on the last month, we have been busy.)

21 Weeks...just a little late!

How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +5 lbs...well there we go
Maternity clothes? Maternity everything unless I am just hanging out at home
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still sleeping well, but Owen doesn't like when I lay on my stomach now
Best moment this week: Watching Jake talk to Owen then make my belly look like it is Owen talking back to him
Movement: Lots...kid is going to move just like his big brother!
Food cravings: Ramen noodles
Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Not getting beat up when I am laying on my belly. Although it is amusing at the same time.
What I am looking forward to:
Differences from 1st pregnancy: I can feel when I am having braxton hicks contractions this time. With Jake I had no idea until the first trip to l&d where they hooked me up to the monitors and told me I was having them
Milestones: Getting the first new things for Owen! (Some new diapers!) Poor kid isn't going need a lot of new things since he will get a lot of Jake's things, so it will be nice when he does get some new stuff.
