Tonight we went out to dinner with Grammy. Jake was sitting next to Grammy and was picking things off her salad, mostly the cheese. At one point he picked up a shredded carrot, thinking it was a piece of cheese, dipped it in ranch dressing, put it in his mouth and almost immediately made an awful face. Then he says "That was not cheese!" We all just laughed because it was hilarious. I only wish we had had a video camera rolling on that.
We really try to avoid meds in this house unless they are really needed. Jake has only been on antibiotics once and for fevers we try everything we can to bring one down before resorting to meds. So on Monday when Jake randomly spiked a fever we stripped him down and put him in a cool bath. He wasn't really feeling up to playing around in the tub (and we wanted him to relax) so we rigged up the portable dvd player for him to watch while sitting in the tub. And then he asked for a popsicle. Well he was in the tub where any drips would be contained so why not!
Unfortunately dude still had a fever after the cool bath so meds it was. They helped quickly though and by Tuesday mid morning he was back to himself again!
Just wanted to share a picture of Jake with 2 of his great grandparents.
We needed something up on the wall in the playroom, it is white and was completely bare. But since it is a playroom we wanted something fun (and cheap!). Thanks to a combination of ideas from us, pintrest and help from our family art expert, Nikki, we came up with something for Jake to paint himself. He had so much fun with this and was so proud of his art when he was done!
Getting ready to paint!
Cute face!
So proud of his work!
