We (and my mom since I am not supposed to be doing that much) spent Friday and today putting up our Christmas decorations! Everything looks wonderful, but we may have to revisit the idea of lights on outside of the house next year. That was a big pain! But we got a great deal on a new tree (our old one was a Charlie Brown sad looking tree). There are a few more things we need before it is all done, but hopefully we will get those this week and then I will post some pictures! I love having more space to decorate in! This is my favorite time of year (as far as holidays, the cold weather not so much) and I absolutely LOVE Christmas music, so Jake will hopefully come out loving it as well because that is basically all I listen to during this time!

Jake's Update
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (well we already know he is most likely a little bigger than this) (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day (hopefully a good part of the night too!). When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from her face.
Excuse how I look in these pictures. We realized on Sunday night we hadn't taken a picture and we were getting ready to go to bed. I'll be extra pretty in next week's to make up for it!

Another Trip
To labor and delivery that is. I spent the majority of my day hanging out being monitored. I was bleeding again yeserday morning, same as before, there was some there and then nothing else. I decided to wait until the doctor's office opened instead of calling the on call doctor. I was hoping they would let me wait until today since I already had an appointment and u/s scheduled. No such luck. At 10:15 I got a call back from the nurse saying my doctor wanted me to come in ASAP to get monitored and have an u/s. Unfortunately I was at work, so I had to leave work at 10:20 so I was only there for 2 hours and missed birthday celebrations and PT month celebrations. I was actually hoping I would be able to get back in time, but I didn't. I had called Josh and we decided he would stay at work for the time being and save his vacation days and if there was something going on he could come at that time. So my mom met me up there, I got checked in and hooked up to the monitors. Jacob's heartrate was great! So apparently none of this bleeding affects him at all! They then took me up to the perinatologist that I saw at 24 weeks to get an u/s. He checked everything out and said he couldn't find a reason for the bleeding. Everything looked good and my cervix was long and closed. And he also said Jake is probably going to be a big baby, he is about 3lbs 9oz right now! (Keep in mind these are based on a few measurements and rarely does a baby actually weigh what they guess from an u/s). But he was in there moving around, and has chubby cheeks already! And LONG legs!
So after the u/s they took me back down to l&d for more monitoring. I finally got some food (my mom went and found the deli after we got the ok for me to eat) and the nurse talked to my doctor. She wanted to keep me for another 2 hours or so to continue monitoring me. So I sent my mom back to work since we were just sitting there, and there is nothing really to do in triage and it is a tiny little room. Of course about 15 minutes after that my doctor comes down to check me out. She checked my cervix again to make sure it wasn't soft, she thinks that is where the bleeding is coming from, but she is not sure why. So she told me to take it easy for 10 days. And she said I could reschedule my appointment for 2 weeks later. She said I could go home at 2, but I was having contractions, which I couldn't feel, regularly. So the nurse paged the doctor again to let her know this (she said it was fine for me to go) and I ended up being there until 3. Then they finally let me go home.
Hopefully I won't have any more bleeding and there will be no more trips to l&d until I am in labor! Please God let me stay out of l&d!
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year so we have stuff to get done today, but I am being limited in what I can do. Boo! So it looks like Josh and my mom will be doing a lot of the work and I will be sitting alot, not so fun. But I guess if that's what I have to do then that is what I will be doing!

29 Weeks (now with pictures!)
Whoa! 29 weeks. That means in 8 weeks Jake will officially be considered full term and can come anytime after that. (Excuse me while I go hyperventilate at how soon that really is!) Not too much going on this week. I did FINALLY get my car! I had been driving the loaner car since last Friday and they brought my car to the house last night.
This weekend we are getting ready for Thanksgiving, which we are hosting this year. I might be a little too excited to be hosting Thanksgiving at OUR house!
I have my 30 week appointment on Wednesday and we will be getting another ultrasound to see how big Jake is now. I am excited to see how much he has grown! Hopefully he is not measuring too big! I figure he will be measuring ahead most of the time because I think he is going to be super tall!
Weekly Update
How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22lbs
Maternity clothes? Almost exclusively maternity clothes except lounge clothes
Stretch marks? Nope and I would be ok if I went the whole time without them
Sleep: I am really thankful to be still sleeping fabulously!
Best moment this week: Baby shower!
Movement: Jake is all over the place!
Food cravings: Bagels
Labor Signs: Nope...but I am having more braxton hicks apparently, nothing that hurts though
What I miss: Not being paranoid when I go to the bathroom
What I am looking forward to: Going to the dr next week...we have an u/s too so we get to see him again!
Weekly Wisdom: Dealing with insurance changing in the middle of pregnancy is not fun!
Milestones: Going to L&D for the first time...even if it was unexpected (and hopefully that is the last time we will be there until I am actually in labor!)
Jacob's Update
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (good thing I drink a ton of milk!) (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Shower, Nursery (Pictures!), and Unexpected Trip to L&D
Yesterday was my first shower. It was great! The hostesses did a wonderful job and everything looked wonderful! We got a lot of great gifts, Jake is going to be one spoiled little boy! We are now set with the bedding and travel system, nursery accesories, pack n play, bath tub, lots of baby wash, lotion, and diaper cream! Along with a ton of other neccessities and cute clothes and towels! Everyone was so generous and we are so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family! I can't wait for Jake to come so he can meet all of these wonderful people!
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because I was busy visiting with everyone! But Nikki took a ton so hopefully she will share those (Right Nikki?!). The cake they got was super cute and I have some pictures of some of the big items (after I came home and Josh got to work putting everything together!).
Awesome cake!
Pack N Play- So Jake can sleep where ever!
And...we got the bedding yesterday along with a few of the accessories for the nursery. So now it is mostly FINISHED! We still want to put a few things on the walls, but it is done enough to use! So...finally...here are some pictures of the nursery (and the progress as we went along!
Before- Josh taping the walls
Painting
Painting done!
Yeah, I painted these...it took FOREVER!
So there you have the mostly completed nursery!
So last thing for today, we made an unexpected trip to L&D yesterday evening. (TMI warning- I am ok with oversharing but if you don't want to read about it stop now!) Everything is ok though, no problems and Jake is doing great!
We were hanging out at home with my mom and aunt, and Josh's parents. We had set up the nursery and Josh had put together the big things and were waiting for pizza to get here. I went to the bathroom and wiped and the toilet paper was covered in blood. Definitely concerning but there wasn't much more blood after that. But Josh and I decided it would be a good idea to call the on call dr just to see what they thought since I haven't had any sort of bleeding or spotting at all. The dr on call called back and asked a few questions then told us to go ahead and go into L&D to get checked out. This of course freaks both Josh and I out more. So we leave and head up there. (We now know that if I go into labor on a Saturday evening about 7pm it takes 30 minutes to get there!) We get there and get all checked in and they hook me up to the contraction and heartrate monitors. I wasn't bleeding any more which was good but I was having some mild contractions that I wasn't feeling. So the nurse gave me some water and called the dr to let him know what was going on. He said to just monitor me for an hour. So we sat for an hour and I drank 36 oz of water and 4 oz of apple juice. The nurse checked to make sure I wasn't dialted since I was having contractions. She said it was long, tight, and closed. She said the bleeding was random but if it happens again to call. Then about 9:40 pm they sent us home. So everything is great! Jake was kicking the monitors the whole time and the apple juice really woke him up. I think if my dr had been on call I would have been told to rest, drink some water and call back if it happened again. She tends to be less alarmist and calmer (which is why I love her). But at least we went in and everything checked out good. Hopefully that is our one and only scare and we won't go back to L&D until I am actually in labor!

3rd Trimester! (28 Weeks) Updated with pictures finally!
That's right, we are officially in the FINAL trimester! WHOA! This week I had my last monthly appointment, now we start having appointments every other week! At this appointment I had my glucose screening, which I found out today I passed, so no problems there. And the doctor says everything is looking and doesn't anticipate that changing at all. I also had to sign consent forms for delivery (!). Weird! My doctor had another ultrasound scheduled for my next appointment in two weeks. Another routine one, she just wants to check on his weight. I am ok with that! We get to see him again and find out how much he is weighing. We are hoping to do a 3d/4d ultrasound too in the next couple of weeks. The pictures from those are so cool and you can actually see the features in those. I need to get working on scheduling that! We also got the 3rd trimester packet with info on what to do when I go into labor and postpartum info. I can't believe we are this far already! We are getting so close but somehow I still feel like it is far away. Although I know it is going to be here before we know it.
Here is the updated to do list, I added things that obviously don't need to be done soon but need to be done by the first of the year.
To Do:
Finish nursery- should be mostly done tomorrow
Finish Jake's wall letters
Order glider
Pre register at the hospital (put on hold until we get our new insurance info, what a pain to deal with now!)
Sign up for childbirth class
Go to childbirth class
Start buying diapers
Set up furniture delivery date
Schedule 3d/4d u/s
Schedule newborn pictures
Install carseat bases in cars
Set up baby equipment
Pack for hospital
Wash baby clothes
Wash bedding
Order more diapers (need about 24)
Schedule baptism
Pre-order annoucements
Make call list for after Jake is born

Jacob's Update
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
Pictures to come tomorrow, we were busy cleaning and getting normal weekend stuff done tonight and I am too tired now.

The Other Exciting News
So I thought I was going to take some pictures but was too tired to do it today so I will post some pictures later. But I figured I would share the exciting news at least!
We got a new car! Yea! My car needed to be replaced and we have been looking for a while. We found a great deal on a 2007 Murano (same car that Josh drives). I picked it up today, but they are actually going to have to take it back on Friday to fix a few things. We had some issues with the dealership but the car is great!
So now our garage has matching cars, one in red and one in black. It is a little odd but hey I guess we both just like the car that much!
And I feel much better knowing that when Jake comes I will have a newer and safer car to drive him around in!
I also finished Jake's letters tonight, one more piece of the nursery done!

Furniture!
OUR FURNITURE WAS DELIVERED TODAY!
It looks GREAT! And as an extra special surprise...our chair was also on the truck and delivered! I was definitely surprised but excited! So the nursery is mostly done with the exception of things on the walls and the bedding. I am so excited to finally get this part done. Now the room actually feels like a nursery. I can't wait to get the bedding in there so I can take and post some pictures! I am also super excited about my shower this weekend. So Sunday I will hopefully have some pictures from both of those.
And because I never put them up, here are some pictures from Halloween.

27 Weeks- Updated with pictures
Not much going on this week. We did find out that we are getting our furniture on Tuesday though! So I should have pictures of the nursery next Sunday or Monday. But we are not getting our chair until next week. I have my first shower this coming weekend and I have a lot to do this week and next weekend is going to be super busy! We also have some more random exciting news, but I will wait to post about it until I have pictures (should be by Wednesday).
Weekly Update
How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +19lbs
Maternity clothes? Almost exclusively maternity clothes except lounge clothes
Stretch marks? Nope and I would be ok if I went the whole time without them
Sleep: Still getting good sleep but I have woken up with some calf cramps a few times
Best moment this week: Getting a delivery date for the furniture (although the process of getting that delivery date was probably the worst moment of the week)
Movement: I think he is running out of space to make really big movements, still moving a lot but no hard jabs like I was getting before
Food cravings: nothing this week
Labor Signs: Nope..Many weeks away from this.
What I miss: My scrub pants staying up and not having to continuously pull them up!
What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery furniture in this week!
Weekly Wisdom: Swimming is much more difficult when you have a belly dragging through the water!
Milestones: Getting a chest for the nursery painted and the letters closer to being done.
Jacob's Update
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Pictures
Jake was sitting really high (for him) when this was taken and if you look carefully you can tell my belly button has popped out a little bit in this picture. It goes back in when he moves back down though.
