Halloween

I LOVE the holidays right now. I mean, I have always loved holidays, but they are just getting better and better now that Jake gets them and the anticipation and he has so much fun!

Last night we headed out around 6, we were going to go down to the end of our street where they had a bounce house set up, but it took us a little bit to get ready so we just skipped that part. We stopped at some of our friends house to see when they were leaving to go Trick or Treating. We ended up hanging out with them and going Trick or Treating with them. Jake and I were out from about 6:45-8 then headed home and Josh took him out for another 20 minutes. We hit a ton of houses and got so much candy that I had to empty Jake's bucket twice while we were out then again when we got home so he could go with Josh. But he just loved it. He was so excited to be Buzz Lightyear and told everyone he was Buzz Lightyear and did his "To infinity and beyond!" He got so many compliments on how cute he was.

Of course, our evening was not complete without a moment of panic for me. We were about halfway between our house and our friends houses (we had dropped them off there and worked our way home) when Jake announced to the man that opened the door of the house we were at that he had to go potty. No trick or treat, just "I have to go potty!" His costume was one a one piece with his wings over that and we were just too far to run in either direction and I didn't know if it was I have to go now or I kinda feel like I might need to go soon. So this very nice man, while laughing, asked if we wanted to use his bathroom. It was so awkward! But what other choice did I have at that point?! So inside some strangers house we went and got the costume off as quick as we could. We made it just fine, but dang that made for an interesting few minutes. And a good story that we can laugh about.

Jake has been so proud of all of his "treats" that he has told everyone about them.

Pumpkin Patch (x2)

We love going to the pumpkin patch to play and pick out our pumpkin. This year Jake got to go twice. He and I went to a small pumpkin patch close to our house with our Thirsty Thursday group to play, then we all went the one we have been to the past 2 years on Sunday to play some more and actually get a pumpkin. He had a blast with the big pumpkins this year. And we ended up getting one that weighs just as much as he does! He also got 3 smaller pumpkins that he just had to have. We took a ride on the hayride, which about half way through Jake tells us he needs to go potty. Ahh, I love that he is potty trained, but dang sometimes it makes things a little difficult. (Fortunately, he was able to hold it until after the hayride and got to the bathroom no problem) He was also so obsessed with the bounce houses that we had to convience him to pick out pumpkins first because he would've never gotten out of that if we'd let him go there first! He was very side when his turn in the bounce house was over.

We stopped for some frozen yogurt on the way home because it was close to 90* while we were at the pumpkin patch and they don't make short sleeved Halloween shirts for kids so Jake had long sleeves on (we changed him when we left so he wasn't stuck in that long). Crazy Texas weather didn't get the memo that it is supposed to be Fall all through October. Thankfully we did finally have a good cold front come through this week so it has been nice and cool this weekend and it is supposed to stay that way through the rest of the week.

This was done on Friday and I just had to upload pictures, but we had a bit of a rough weekend here so I just got around to it.

Food cravings: Skittles
Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Being able to workout or go to the grocery store without feeling sick
What I am looking forward to: Looking more pregnant in all clothes, some clothes just make me look fat

And  bonus Jake picture. He was so excited about his drawing on the board that he wanted us to take a picture of it.

12 Weeks

Not much going on this week. Jake and I went to a bounce house place with some friends on Monday and he loved it, so we are thinking of doing that for his birthday this year. And yesterday Jake and I decorated the house for fall. He loves helping me decorate and I now have random old fall decorations in random places throughout the house. I can't wait to decorate for Christmas and see what happens there! I also had a doctor's appointment this week. Everything looks great and baby was just jumping up and down the whole time. It is so fun to see, but it is cool to see Jake getting to see the baby too!

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 0 lb...I fluctuate from -2 to 0 throughout the week. I was up less than .5lb at my dr appt this week.
Maternity clothes? Already in maternity pants for work and some sort of stretchy shorts, skirts, and dresses at home
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Sleep is my friend again
Best moment this week: Seeing baby jumping around at my appt. Jake got to see baby moving and was able to see that it looks like a real baby now!
Movement: I felt a couple of little taps one night this week
Food cravings: Still not really craving things
Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Not much right now
What I am looking forward to: The beginning of the 2nd trimester next week
Differences from 1st pregnancy: I couldn't feel Jake (or at least didn't recognize it) until 18 weeks.
Milestones: A stranger noticing I am pregnant. And that pretty little ticker at the top says we are down to less than 200 days

Denton, America

We headed to Denton a couple of weekends ago for a day full of North Texas fun. Grammy came with us this year to help with Jake and go to a football game in the new stadium. We started the day early and headed to the bookstore to get Jake a new North Texas shirt. (And somehow he also ended up a fun football too). We headed to my alumni meet next. There weren't a lot of alumni that were older, so I didn't know many of them. This may have been my last time to swim in an alumni meet. Jake had fun wandering around occasionally and cheering. Once we were done there we headed to a park to eat lunch , then we dropped Josh off to warm up for his game. Grammy and I took Jake to have some ice cream at Beth Marie's (best ice cream place ever) then drove around for a while so Jake could sleep some, then headed back to watch Josh's game. Well Jake played at the playground more than watched.

Once we were all nice and sweaty from the rugby game, we headed back to campus to get some dinner before the game. We stopped at a new resturant that was all macaroni and cheese! Yum. Then we walked ALL the way (it had to be at least to 2.5 miles) to the stadium. Jake actually did really great and walked a good portion of it. We didn't take the stroller so he had to walk a ton, but he did get carried some and a few piggy back rides. He loved the football game. He really got into cheering and looking for Scrappy. We also had a really nice family sitting in front of us and Jake was all about talking to them! He apparently impressed the lady so much with his cuteness, she went down to the store and bought him a foam claw. So nice! He finally got to see Scrappy and was so excited! (Although this year's Scrappy is not nearly as good as last year's.) He made it through the whole game though and did great. He did get carried all the way back to the car and also had his first peeing in the grass experience. We got almost to the car when he said he had to go potty, of course all of the buildings on campus are closed so no access to a bathroom. So we quickly found a hidden place for him to go. I was surprised that he went without any hesitation! Good thing he is a boy! It made it nice and simple and clean. And with that, we headed home. It was a LONG day, but we had fun. Jake can't wait to go back to a football game and asks about it almost every day. I love it!
